# Runner Bot for Groups

**How to Add Runner Bot to Your Telegram Group**

To start using Runner Bot in your group, follow these simple steps:

1. **Start the bot**

Open [Runner Bot](https://t.me/runner_sol_bot) on Telegram and tap **“Start” or `/start`** . Then, go to the **Bot Info** section.

2. **Add the bot to the group**

Tap **“Add bot to group”** and select the group where you want to use Runner.

3. **Grant admin rights**\
   For Runner to work properly and read messages, you **must add it as an admin** in the group.

4. **Get and copy your Group ID**\
   **Send any CA (contract address for the token) to the group**, Runner 'listens' to the CA in the group and at this stage will return you **the group ID.** The group ID will look like this: `-1001868729688`. \
   Copy it.

5. **Send the Group ID to Runner Support**\
   Send your group ID to your Runner representative or to the official support account: [@runnerbotsupport](https://t.me/runnerbotsupport)
6. **Wait for Whitelisting**\
   The Runner team will whitelist your group and notify you once it’s ready to go!
7. **Set Up Your Report**\
   Admin then must first use the **`/settings`** command in the group to set up the way the report looks. It could be changed anytime.

5. **Send CA**\
   When you are all set, use the bot by sending any Solana token contract address or use the `/start` command to see the list of options.

### Configure Runner Bot For Groups&#x20;

**NOTE: Only users with admin rights in the group can configure Runner Bot.**\
`/settings` command will show you a menu to select or remove informational blocks in the Runner report.

If all the fields are marked 'OFF ❌' the bot will stop sending reports to the group.

&#x20;Practice and find the report that suits your needs.&#x20;

#### Basic troubleshooting

* if the bot stops responding - make sure that the bot still has admin rights - if there were any changes in admins or group status bot could lose it.&#x20;
* if there were any changes to group name, admin rights for the users - group ID might change. Please send the group ID to your Runner rep or Runner support to whitelist this ID.
* in order to change the bot settings - YOU MUST BE ADMIN - and **you shouldn't write from the group itself**, otherwise the bot won't see you as an admin.&#x20;
